Now that those “kegs and eggs” early morning gameday rituals are over; now that doing luge shots in public is no longer acceptable; and now that fashioning your own gameday garment is no longer cute, appropriate attire to wear to the big game (whether attending or watching on TV) has changed–whether we like it or not. But never fear, Lush to Blush is here! When picking out your outfits this season, keep these 3 things in mind:
1. Metallics. Several schools around the country incorporate a metallic into their signature colors. Use this to amp up accessories and add some sophistication to your look.
2. Mascot. While not all schools have a trendy mascot (like Texas Christian University’s “Horned Frog”. Yes, really.), it is possible to show your pride in jewelry. Think about going tribal if your school boasts native american roots or a proud eagle; take it aquatic if you’re cheering for the sharks or dolphins.
3. Stay away from anything with ripped holes or fraying. Whether intentional or not, ripped holes in clothing is just not cute for adults after college. Although it may seem that gameday is the perfect opportunity to bust out those old cutoffs, it is not. Think twice before trying to fit in with the students because chances are, you’ll just end up looking like an adult longing for her college days.
The best way to show school spirit after 25 is to go simple and understated. Do you agree with these guidelines? What would you add to the list?
