Summer Trend Alert: Spikes and Studs

spikes & studs

The punk rock look is back, but not in the same way as back in the 80s. Tastemakers and Trendsetters are stepping out in spiked and studded shoes and accessories paired with flashing neons and dainty florals. But is the mix match too much or are they onto something?

Personally, I love the look. It might be a little much for an everyday thing (it’s just not me), but every once in a while, I love to step out with a funky, edgy style. Spikes and studs are a fun way to break away from your everyday go-to. Pair these fierce embellishments with lace to balance the look out and show how multifaceted your style–and your personality–can be.

Another fun way to mix it up is to add some chic animal print. A spiked leopard shoe can give a classic outfit that pop of personality. Steve Madden makes lots of options like these for $100. Or try these for just a touch of ferocity.

Do you like the spikes and studs trend for this summer? How would you style the hardware?
