Beauty Buy: Chanel Moisturizer

Moisturizing your skin – especially your face – is essential year round for several different reasons. When it is hot and sunny, going outside without SPF can cause not only redness and peeling, but wrinkles, dryness, and skin diseases too. And during the winter, moisturizer is what keeps your skin safe from dryness, flaking, and the harsh, cold wind. Your face is the first thing people see, so it is important to invest the proper care into it.

I first learned my lesson four summers ago when my BFF and I laid out almost every day. I always had a burnt face or was peeling while she always looked radiant. Her skin was perfect and I wanted to know her secret! I finally found out when we went shopping one day and she stopped at the Chanel beauty counter in Macy’s. She said she was almost out of moisturizer and that’s when I met my new love: BEAUTÉ INITIALE ENERGIZING MULTI-PROTECTION FLUID SPF 15 by Chanel ($75, chanel.com). The moment I tried it on I knew I had to have it. The price is steep, but I would pay double for this product. It literally feels like you’re spreading heaven across your face.

The lightweight moisturizing lotion reenergizes dull skin to give you a subtle glow while special powders in the formula absorb oil, all while protecting your skin against harmful UV rays. And since a little goes a long way, the 1.7 fl oz bottle easily lasts 6 months. So take a hint from an avid, loyal user – it’s worth it. Plus, who wouldn’t feel chic wearing a Chanel beauty product?

  1. It is very expensive… but I do agree that you must invest into skin care, especially for your face!
I want to get this now – do you use this am & pm? I just got an amazing moisturizing cream for the pm so I might just have to wait to use that up or get this for my morning regimen.

  2. Yes, it was part of the HydraMax line which is for dryer skin. The Beaute Initiale line adds radiance to dull skin and gives you a glow while disguising fine lines. :) It also contains SPF which HydraMax does not.
