Paris Fashion Week Trend Alert: 50’s silhouettes

So much has happened during Paris Fashion Week that it’s hard to keep up! From celebrity fashion gone wrong to designers stepping down, it can be easy to forget what the week is all about–the runway shows! That’s why I’ve decided to keep my focus for this post.

One of my favorite trends to come out of Paris Fashion Week is the 50s silhouette. How stick-figured models managed to pull off that hourglass shape is beyond me, but that’s beside the point. Fashion houses from Chanel to Lanvin are all currently presenting cinched waists, conservatively high necklines, and knee-length skirts for Fall/Winter 2012. I’m also seeing a lot of peplums again, but more on that later. Here’s a slideshow to hold you over until the Louis Vuitton show tomorrow:

Will you follow the 50s trend? I know I will!
